Internet and Universities;
Nowadays Internet is not just an information container, it's also the most powerful medium to share ideas and knowledge.
Universities don't seem to understand this potential, and keep on using old tools which are no longer suitable for a modern online didactics .
We are Diego, Andrea, Marco and Silvia, four young people from Italy. We’re working hard on a new approach to these needs. With your help we would like to create a network made of students and teachers across all European universities. We firmly believe we can all contribute to improve the quality of what we learn and, most importantly, how we study it.
Our main goal is social: the sharing of knowledge is a necessary step toward the University of the future, not bounded by the physical limits of its buildings.
- To collect and aggregate, with the help of users, all the didactic contents produced inside Universities.
- To develop ad-hoc tools for students and teachers to manage and improve didactics;
- To bring the Universities' social networks online - teachers, students, courses - for new connections to emerge both inside universities and among different ones.
A social, shared and connected management of the University life.
Students and Teachers
As a student, on Wecampus you'll find your courses, classmates, teachers. All the relevant contents will be easily available, from all the sources of the Wecampus network. You'll be able to communicate and cooperate with all people interestes in each particular subject.
As a teacher, on Wecampus you'll be able to easily manage your courses and keep in touch with your students. You will publish an inter-university professional profile and will be able to communicate with other teachers who are giving the same lessons somewhere, and to share your research interests too.
We want to accelerate the switch to digital contents inside Universities, providing contents on computers, smartphone, tablet and ebook readers.
Wecampus is a custom developed web platform: students and teachers will be an active part of this project. They will help us collect and improve didactic contents.
In two words? Collaborative Innovation.
